Abuse, violence, and cruelty are regular parts of both Mark and Eve’s workdays - but in radically different ways. Mark is a content moderator for a major social media platform. Eve is a social work masters student whose internship has her counseling at-risk middle schoolers. When an online date brings the two together, their worlds and ways of coping are fundamentally challenged, and the consequences are felt by everyone around them. They are all left to ask: how does what we see change us? And what is the cost of truly witnessing?
